Cyclical: occurring in cycles

Last week: 35 total miles
Sunday: 17 miles, -4ยบ

Also last week, I became a grown-up and bought a brand new washer and dryer. Big event in our house! When you turn them on, they play a happy little jingle and when the load is complete, it plays another one. Music to my ears.

My grandma always said there are two things you can never avoid: taxes and laundry.

Anyway, here's my segue...

Training is cyclic. You work up to the long miles, come down and work back up again. 17 was a big deal for me, but I felt stronger than ever. My years of running are conditioning me — how 'bout an ultra — haha

RFM ran the middle 9 with me which was a huge help. If I break up a long run or marathon into parts, each part feels like a "fresh" start. I use the term "fresh" loosely, but you understand.

The first 3.5 miles from home to meet group.
9 miles with a friend.
4.5 on my own, run back home.

This Saturday, going back down in miles again…only to build them back up.
