Form & Function

I'm not certain if it's the weather wearing on me or that this week I will be a year older.

Whichever, I'm physically feeling it. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude, because really, what can you do about either?

My workouts are strong (I don't have the fatigue I had last year when training) but I just can't wait to get into bed every night! There have been a few lifestyle changes for me this year compared to the other years I've trained for a marathon . . .

They are all different, aren't they? Embrace, embrace, embrace.

It was negative-something-degrees again last night. The air so cold that it makes you cough when you take in a deep breath. What that means to me is…treadmill.

7 miles @ 7:47 pace
Today: easy 5 (I can do that)
Saturday: 17 (need to get my head around that one)

The pleasant surprise about running on the treadmill last night was that I was on a machine in front of a window, the screen was positioned low and I could see my foot strike in the reflection.

I've always battled controlling my left foot kicking out which is not efficient and can lead to injuries (basically bad form). I thought I "kicked" the habit, but I saw it happening!

Watching in the window, I had near perfect form for 7 miles.

That's very positive.

And after that, I went home and got in my p.j's !
