Lisa Menninger - Coach Extraordinaire

Lisa, just knows. She is an incredible runner with a world of experience. We are fortunate to have her train us - everyone from our group who ran the Shamrock Shuffle 8k PR'd.

Last week was tough for me. And of course the "taper" brings on some crazy thoughts. Here is an email response to the fatigue I was feeling after the 8k.

On Monday, I ran 3 1/2 mile splits at 3:25, 3:21, 3:23 and was pretty happy about that.

The best thing you can do is embrace the rest.

The fatigue you felt was normal. We sit on the edge of enough and too much in those last peak weeks of training.

The fact you felt good today is a very good sign. You are recovering fast.

Honestly, you are in the best shape of your life right now and your splits say so. Given the winter you had to train through, the race itself won't be a big deal. Really

Just make sure you are really taking care of yourself this week and next. Make youreslf a priority. Rest. Avoid stressful people and situations. Make the kids do more for themselves so you can take care of you. Hydrate. Eat right. And practice breathing with ease and calm.

You are ready. Don't worry even a little bit.

Lisa :)

After reading her email, I am definitely breathing with ease and calm.
