Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy

Last week: 14 total miles
Saturday: 6 miles easy
Weather:  60s and sunny!
Highlight: Saw deer

Admittedly, a poorly preformed marathon has taken it out of me. It's true what you read about not having a good marathon experience, you may never want to run one ever again.

But, my feeling, although kind of down about it is, I'm going to right this wrong in my own way, on my own watch, when the moment moves me.

I did not run all week. On Saturday, I slept in. Woke up to sunshine. Read in bed for an hour looking out my window to the beautiful woods. Got up and out for a run, probably around noon.

The sunshine warms the soul and makes everything so pretty - especially after a couple of weeks of gray dreariness. Good feeling.

Plus, I treated myself to new shorts!

My pace was more than a minute slower than race pace, as this was an EASY RUN. I even stopped to take a few pictures.

On Sunday, I ran 8 miles EASY. I never run on Sunday's, but hey, why not. Carefree, peaceful. Not watching my watch. Not on a training schedule. Not thinking about the next race. I'm thankful at this time I haven't committed to a 5k or half.

And all that felt really good. No pressure.
