Day 62 - Wednesday's Run:
5 miles
Gorgeous, gorgeous day. After getting over a bad cold and cough, had a strong run and feeling good except for the coughing fit I had when my run was over. Not glamorous.
Because of stranger danger, I altered my course and ran through our small downtown. Well, this allowed me to catch a glimpse of myself in the Border's window. Shocking. My posture and form are terrible. Bent a little too forward, rear sticking out, way out! No wonder I have back problems, or vise versa. I am lacking core body strength. (which is a big fat duh! after reading issues of Runner's World magazine during an hour oil change - imagine the service station having Runner's World magazine, best oil change ever!)
You should see the abs on these people in RW. Ridiculous. Where are my abs after all this running? Well, maybe I never had abs, but honestly what I have going on around the waist is nowhere to be seen in RW. Do I keep blaming this on two kids and age (because it is absolutely true what they say about your body/metabolism after forty) or do I just get down and do some crunches?
So that is what I have been working on - core body strength.
Love is in the air...oh wait that's Spring. It's supposed to be in the 40s this weekend and sunny - with that combo, who couldn't help but feel in love.
Happy weekend!
Way to get out there after being sick! I'm also trying to work on my core body strength and getting back into running again post-kids. 40s and sunshine=perfect day for a run. Hoping for those conditions this weekend in my neck of the woods.
