[annie's first cc invitational]
The weather this past week has been perfect for running. Cool and crisp.
Unlike last Saturday when it was so hot and humid that at my daughter's cross-country meet their number one runner passed out just as she crossed the finish line. So hard to watch her fight it as she ran the last straight-away, weaving, lifting her legs as if dead weight. Ugh. After that they shortened the remaining races to two miles.
Annie did well. Her time was 14:24 for 2 miles.
Chills, seeing her cross the finish line! So proud.
This Sunday is the Chicago Half Marathon. I am hoping for some cool weather especially since it's on the open road...Lake Shore Drive, up and back.
This race may be tricky because I need to hold back! The adrenaline at the beginning of a race is crazy, but I need to watch my pace and take into consideration the full marathon in 4 weeks. Don't want a pulled this-or-that...The following weekend I will be running 20 miles. Last long distance and then tapering.
You are kicking booty! That's so awesome!
