Happy Running!

After a week resting (meaning not running, not like bed rest ;) my headache is finally gone!

Your head is nothing to mess with. I ended up seeing my doctor and all vitals were just fine. No explanation as to why my headache lingered.

My unmedical diagnosis is that the headache was reminding me to take it easy, that I had recently run a marathon which takes a slight toll on a persons body...maybe I was not fully recharged. Hind sight, the all out 5k's, I ran back to back weekends, were probably not the best idea (for me, anyway).

Was I dehydrated?

Was I not eating right?

I am noticing a pattern. When I'm done with a marathon, all my awesome healthy eating habits are put on the shelf right next to the steel cut oats and brown rice. I go on this eat-whatever-I-want-although-I-know-it's-not good-for-me binge.

HELLO...bag of Lays BBQ chips.

HELLO... bacon cheeseburger.

HELLO...cabernet sauvignon.

At the time it's sinfully delicious, but then you feel icky afterwards.

It is so important to listen to your body, though. And take care of yourself!

Rest is good. Eating right is good.

As of Monday, I am feeling like myself and happy to be running again.

Run a few today to celebrate National Running Day!
