Last week: 19 total miles
We had one last farewell celebration Wednesday night for Lisa, coach extraordinaire. So many people came! Morning group runners, evening group runners, the OGRES (old guys run every sunday), friends and more friends...Lisa is relocating to Salt Lake City.
She has offered long distance coaching (no pun intended) through email. For anyone who signs on, she will keep them on track (no pun intended) in meeting their running goals. And I'm on it.
Each and every one of the people Lisa has coached has a success story. From someone starting out not able to run a single mile to now running half marathons...Someone losing 30 lbs. and running faster than ever...Another person, knocking an hour off their marathon time...Runners PR-ing all the time...And me, qualifying for Boston.
There is absolutely no way I could have improved as much as I have without her workouts, wisdom and confidence in me.
So, after meeting Lisa every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday for almost 2 years, Saturday morning was our last run with her. It was a tearful good-bye. Lisa has made a huge impact on my running, my life.
I'm going to miss you, Lisa! You are awesome!
