Best Run Since Boston

The spring in my step has been missing for the last few, well, a lot of the last few runs. Heavy, lead filled legs, awkward stride, sloppy shoes. But this past Saturday I got it back.

1. I expressed my thoughts to Lisa, coach extraordinaire, what a release of frustration that only a coach could understand.

2. I ran with RFM and Frontier (who talked about Undaunted Courage by Lewis &Clark...I know, right!). Yes, I run with a man named Frontier. Long and short of it, these two men are great company. We talk about stuff. I listen. I'm not thinking about the million reasons why I should stop running...and I just run. And listen. And guaranteed, I will reference our conversation to my other friends (non-runners) some time that weekend.

3. It was 60ยบ - perfect running weather.

4. I brought my iPod. I haven't run with music in a long time. But I knew I needed something to keep me going. I ran 8 with RFM and Frontier and had my music set to go for the last 4 of my 12 mile run.

Yay. I did it without too much effort.

The spring game back in my step when a song from fun. came on. fun. is my best memory of Lollapalooza last year with my sister.

I LOVE moments of clarity of our everyday lives that bring emotions to the surface.
So this fun. song came on....

Cause we are
We are shining stars
We are invincible
We are who we are
On our darkest day
When we're miles away
So we'll come
We will find our way home

~ fun.

My sister is my rock. I will miss her this year at Lollapalooza.
Rick on, Angel!
